Intro

This is The Soul Song.
This is the symphony, musical, libretto of the spirit. It sings of love & hate, joy & despair, heaven & hell. It doesn't however have a theme or genre.
It is not limited to the constraints of a tragedy or a comedy. It is only a score, independent of predetermined and written dynamics.
You are free to emphasize what you want and interpret as you would. You may take what you will, and leave what you don't.
This is my Soul Song; to me "The Soul Song!" But to you, this is but "a" Soul song... The prelude to your own. ;)

Let Your Soul Sing,

Those We Love

Those we Love
Aidan J. Shrowder

It seems the ones
That we dearly Love
Are always those hurt
When push comes to shove

We're patient, and kind
With those we barely know
But when it comes to friends
We seem so shallow

I call lack of trust: caring
Being rude: strengthening
But the motive is the same
Love is the beginning

I know it doesn't make sense
I know it shouldn't be true
But my concern for friends
Is as deep as the great blue

It's no excuse, I understand
but they say
"It's the thought that counts"
And I hold that true, to this day

I'm sorry to those I Love
Now and forever
For, reluctantly, it won't relent
Until this world is better

But I hope you understand
That because of concern
I hold you so close
And that, eventually, I'll learn

The Old Toy Soldier

The Old Toy Soldier
Aidan J. Shrowder

He was the new toy soldier
All shiny and neat
He was rare & unique
No other could compete

He was loved by all eyes
But to him, one mattered most
Only the toy player
The one who made him boast

But as time always moves
He was no longer new
The once great paint;
Now, only faded blue

The "old" toy soldier
Now always to wait
Hoping he will be sought
But, really, knows his fate

Happily Ever After

Happily Ever After
Aidan J. Shrowder

Is it odd to crave peace
When you're happy most?
When you're standing on the peak
To wanna leave your post?

It's a happy ending,
From time well spent!
What more could I want?
I am content

Happily ever after;
How sweet those words
Like honey on thy tongue
Like song of spring birds

Each card I draw
Is only chance
One trick away
Of the great "romance"

But I wait for the day,
We all do,
Of when our Happily Ever After
Finally comes true
