I try and feel
Aidan Shrowder
I try and feel remorse
But, for her I feel none
Though I think I should
I do not run that run
I try and feel sad
I honestly do
But I feel it's even
This, truly, something new
I try and feel her pain
Though I seem not to care
Tis only just the sin I shame
And not for how she fair
I try and feel that bond
That one we once held dear
The one we said, "will never break"
How false this statement, I fear
I try and feel differently
Though I know it's come to pass
We are not who we were
That castle; crumbl'd fas'
I try and feel she understands
But tis a fable, I know
To alike of Aesop's Mouse & Lion
I strike that thought with arrow & bow
I try and feel that I care
But moral law quickly fades
Life and I no longer the same
Now but a game of hearts and spades
