The Listening Eye
Aidan Shrowder
He has the listening eye
It pierces through the soul
He knows if you be pure
Or if your heart is black as coal.
They're kind and gentle
Those murky, blue pools
The deep set eyes
That turn girls to fools
The listening eye
It's hard to conceive
A member of the body to listen,
when meant only to see.
But if you saw
Into his deep glare
You would know what I mean
By a listening stare.
Upon you, his intent look
Makes you feel that he cares
Now matter how you act
He looks back and asks how you fair.
Lest, if you wish to know
The secret to a loving friend
It's the listening eye
That will help you to the end.
